I started coming to Danville Baptist Church when I was about 16 years old, in 1999, and I actually accepted Jesus into my life the same year. Lets just say the Lord has had a plan for me all my life. He brought me to DBC and my life has not been the same since. As I said in my bio, I have a lot to be thankful for by being at DBC. If you haven’t read my bio yet, go read it after you get done with this. It can be found on the staff page. This church has been so good to me for all these years and I want to give back. I am so honored that you, as a church, have elected me to this position as Media Minister. I will be doing a lot of things, but this website is one of my first major developments for the church and I am proud of it. I know there are some parts that need finished, but its around 90% complete. As we grow with new and exciting things, I will add to this site and it will change a bit, but it is a good start and has a good base to grow. This site is just as important to reaching people as our social media profiles. This site is important to have for people searching the web for churches on Google. Now, there are 2 ways of getting this site on Google’s front page when people Google something like “churches near me”. The 1st is to pay Google to get on that front page, or the 2nd is by people being interactive with it, and sharing things. It is my job to keep the site updated, but it is all of our jobs to interact with it. Now you ask, “how do I interact with it?” There are social media links underneath posts, whether its a blog post, podcast post, or an event post, you can click those and share them to your social media. You can also copy the address link and paste it manually on your social media. This site works best on a computer. The social links will not take you to the mobile app when you are trying to click from a mobile phone or tablet. Instead when you click one, it will take you to your web browser to share. I will be working to fix that soon. Also, this site is one of the faces of our church. People can come here and learn a great amount about us. I think the events page will be a highly used page on the site. I hope you all enjoy the new site, and I want to encourage everyone to take some time and browse around and look at everything. Also if you see a mistake, please let me know, so that I can fix it.

Thank you,

Brian “Catfish” McCollum
